SERVICES

kiln drying

I have two commercial kilns that will accommodate lumber and slabs of almost any size. The drying process in the kilns will ensure that each customer goes home with a piece of wood that is project-ready. Moisture content is dried to 6% or less and the kiln is heated to 140 degrees to kill off any insects the wood may have. If your lumber is infested with insects I can also spray insecticide on the lumber.

SURFACING

In my shop I have the Slab-Mizer MB200 which will accommodate slabs as large as 6'x13'. I also have 3 large planers and 3 drum sanders, which makes it possible to sand pieces of wood up to 36' wide.

Live edge slabs

I have a vast collection of live edge slabs that are already kiln-dried. Clients can take home a dried slab for finishing, or a slab can be selected and I can do all the prep work to make sure the slab is project-ready. I carry slabs of elm, oak, maple and walnut. I also have a small collection of other types of wood that are not native to Idaho.

CUSTOM PROJECTS

After being a dentist for almost 30 years I have developed a unique skill set that has been extremely valuable in the shop. I provide services that include taking a tree off the property, milling and drying it on site, and then creating almost anything including bar/counter tops, epoxy tables, mantles, bowls with epoxy, and butcher blocks. All projects that leave my shop will always be stunning.

CUSTOM SAWMILLING

I currently have 3 sawmills that allow me to cut lumber or slabs up to 76" in diameter and 25' in length. I use premium Douglas Fir logs to mill building lumber. I can provide the logs for customers, or customers can bring their logs to me to have them milled.
